Terms and Conditions

Effective date: September 27, 2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of c4dfxlab.com (the “Site”) and your purchase of digital Cinema 4D plugins sold by Daniel Couto / c4dfxlab (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By placing an order, downloading a product, or activating a License Key, you agree to these Terms.

1. Products

We sell digital software plugins for Maxon Cinema 4D, including nEOn OCTANE (plugin chrome: neon OCTANE) and SLiME OCTANE (also referred to as AI Slime). Each product is a separate purchase with its own product page, download, and License Key. Prices are as shown at checkout (including any sale pricing) and are charged in USD unless otherwise stated.

2. What is and is not included

Your purchase includes the plugin download for the product you buy and a License Key for the Indie or Studio tier you select. Maxon Cinema 4D and OTOY Octane for Cinema 4D are separate products and are not included. You are responsible for holding valid licenses for those applications.

3. System requirements

Unless a product page says otherwise, our plugins are intended for Cinema 4D 2023–2026 with Octane for Cinema 4D. One purchase covers every Cinema 4D year we currently support for that product; when we add support for additional years, licensed customers receive those updates at no extra charge. Indie vs Studio is about seats and commercial use tier, not a different Cinema 4D year. We do not warrant that a plugin will work with every OS build or with future Maxon/OTOY versions until we list them. Other renderers (for example Redshift) are not included unless a separate product says so.

4. License grant

Subject to these Terms and full payment, we grant you a personal or studio, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the purchased plugin on the number of seats included with your tier, for creating images, animation, and commercial client work.

Seats (current products):

  • Indie: 1 activated seat (one machine as enforced by our license system)
  • Studio: 3 activated seats

The same plugin binary is used for both tiers; your tier and seat count come from the license server after activation. Purchase is a license to use, not a sale of the software itself. We retain all intellectual property in the plugin, branding, demos, templates, and documentation. Scenes, renders, and meshes you create remain yours.

5. Activation and soft licensing

After purchase you receive a License Key (typically by email and/or My Account). In Cinema 4D, paste the key in the plugin’s Attribute Manager and click ACTIVATE. Activation checks our server and stores a local ticket on that machine. After a successful online check, offline use is allowed for a limited grace period (currently up to 3 days), after which the plugin must re-check online. Clearing the License Key / deactivating ends licensed use on that install. Seat transfers must go through our support or license process — not by sharing files or keys.

6. Allowed and prohibited uses

You may: install on the seats allowed by your tier; use the plugin in personal and commercial client projects; bake or export geometry created with the plugin into your own scenes; use your outputs commercially without paying us a royalty.

You may not: resell, rent, sublicense, share, or redistribute the plugin zip, License Key, or activation ticket; upload them to torrents, warez sites, or public drives; reverse engineer the software to bypass activation; exceed your seat limit; use test, demo, or bypass mechanisms as a substitute for purchase; publish or sell a competing product that is a thin wrapper of our plugin binaries; strip or rebrand and resell the plugin.

Sharing keys publicly or in a way that exceeds seats is grounds for revocation without refund. We may revoke a key obtained fraudulently or used to circumvent activation.

7. Delivery

Products are digital only. After successful payment you get access to the download zip and License Key. Install instructions are included with the product (generally: quit Cinema 4D, place the plugin folder in your Cinema 4D plugins directory, relaunch, then ACTIVATE).

8. Refunds

If you’re not satisfied with the product, email us within 7 days of purchase for a full refund. Once your refund is issued, your license will be deactivated. After 7 days, all sales are final.

9. Support and updates

Support is best-effort via the Site (contact form or published email). Updates for the purchased product line may be provided at our discretion. Studio vs Indie does not change download access unless the product page says otherwise.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Plugins are provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We are not liable for lost project files, render-farm downtime, or third-party software changes. Our total liability for any claim related to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that license.

11. Accounts and Site use

You must provide accurate checkout information. You may not misuse the Site, attempt unauthorized access, or interfere with its operation.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on this page applies to purchases made after the effective date shown above. Continued use of the Site or activation of a license after changes means you accept the updated Terms for future purchases.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer law requires otherwise.

14. Contact

Questions about these Terms: use the contact form on c4dfxlab.com or the email address published on the Site.
